If you were one of those to get a Neo N64 Myth flash cart from NeoFlash and have been waiting for a menu so you can run multiple roms from the flash, or from an SD card (if you also have a Neo2-SD or Neo2-Pro), you're in luck! The menu is now available!
You can select from as many roms as will fit in the flash, or roms up to 16 MBytes from SD card via the Neo2-SD, or roms up to 32 MBytes from SD card via the Neo2-Pro.

Mr.X] added support for four controllers to his Super Nintendo (Google translated) by internalizing the multi-player adapter. In the video after the break you’ll notice that he also added some bling to the case by positioning the power LED beneath the logo and adding a two-digit display. There is a switch on the back that allows him to choose PAL or NTSC standards with the current setting shown on that display. While most people are going with emulators, [Mr.X] ended up with a custom piece of hardware with a clean finish.

Another fine release from one of the UK’s most famous videogaming magazine, Mean Machines. The third issue (December 1990) in its run was scanned and edited by meppi. Online review articles to accompany the release include Batman (NES), Solar Jetman (NES), Tecmo World Wrestling (NES) and Hellfire (Mega Drive). Go check out the MM3 page where you can find a link to the magazine download, magazine editorial and content details and, of course, the online articles.

It may or may not actually be the most compact Nintendo 64 we've ever seen, but even if it's holding down the second spot, you can't knock the ingenuity here. Crafted by one Evil Nod, the self-proclaimed N Gear 64 is little more than an N64 console tucked, shoved and crammed inside a Sega Game Gear enclosure. Best of all, the modder somehow stuffed an N64 controller in there too, yet still left all of the original markings for nostalgia's sake. Head on past the jump for a video of it in action, or tap that source link to learn more about the build process. Riveting stuff, we tell ya.

Regular Hackaday reader [Osgeld] is at it again with this USB conversion for an NES controller. This is a ubiquitous hack that we started seeing very early on, sometimes involving an adapter kit, and other times including things like a thumb drive and USB hub. But this time around is truly a bare-bones version. He’s using an Arduino but it’s really just an AVR ATmega168 running the bootloader. We’d wager this can be done with an ATmega8 just as easily. Grab a couple of diodes (we never seem to have the 3.6v zener diodes around when we need them), a couple caps and resistors, a crystal and you’re in business. The hack wires each button to a pin and implements a keyboard HID that can be mapped for any purpose you desire.

<<I've just released v0.26. See the first post for a download link.
This is mainly a bugfix release, so hopefully the freezes in v0.25 that could occur in some cases should be gone now.
One thing I've added is a "quick" mode for the "Auto region fix" functionality. In this mode only the first 128kB of the game will be scanned, which seems to be enough for every game I've tested it with. But I've left in the old mode (now called "Complete") just in case some game actually requires it.
I've also added/removed/changed some codes in the cheat database. But the only new game I've added to it is Wild Guns (E).>>

In the modder scene, smaller is definitely better. We've seen a huge line of portable N64s over the years, each successive one claiming to be slinkier than its predecessors, but from what we can see the TrySixtyFource has 'em beat. It isn't as aesthetically appealing as the Nimbus 64 nor the Kamikaze 64, and the tiny switch buttons on the rear for the Z/L and R buttons don't look particularly finger-friendly. But, it's hard to argue that ShockSlayer's creation is a good bit smaller than the rest (despite its girth). It's also for sale, if you have the requisite amount of coin, and while the video after the break proves that it works, the lengthy intro will also confuse and befuddle you. We'd recommend skipping ahead to the 3:40 mark.

Hyperkin are a videogame peripheral company founded in 2009 that offer add-ons to consoles such as cheaper controllers, memory cards and 18-in-1 DS accessory kits. They also manufacture their own retro consoles. Two of these include a portable Genesis system and the Retro Twin Video Gaming System, which plays NES and Super Nintendo cartridges.
Their latest system, the RetroN3, however, adds Genesis support. It costs about $70, so if you’ve amassed a giant collection of older games and / or don’t own a Wii, you now have a way to play them. The system comes with two wireless controllers, but also has two original controller ports on board for each system it supports. Just keep in mind the system only supports S-video and composite AV inputs.
Hyperkin plan to launch the RetroN3, which they say was developed through feedback and suggestions they received from consumers, officially at E3 this year.
